There’s More to Nitric Oxide

Nitric Oxide (NO) is a crucially important molecule in the cardiovascular system. It has a major role in vasodilation—opening or widening—of the blood vessels. Healthy NO production maintains blood flow to vital organs, which supports overall cardiovascular function. Essentially, NO is a “heart healthy molecule.”

Like most things, there is a story behind the story. In the case of NO, that “story” is the endothelium, or the production house of NO. When you give your body the nutrients it needs to support NO production through diet and supplementation, what you’re really doing is supporting the health of the endothelium so that it can stay healthy and produce NO.
